6 Genres That Bollywood Needs To Explore To Up Its Game

Though Bollywood produces the largest number of movies every year, we still look forward to Marvel, DC and Nolan movies.

Bollywood has a history of imitating Hollywood when it comes to fashion, action sequences and production budget. But the industry has failed to focus on the most important element. The Indian film industry plays safe and produces massy films that would rake crores of rupees at the box office. Big filmmakers make little to no effort in exploring different genres and instead use their formula template of blockbuster films. Over-the-top action films, romantic sagas, and brainless comedies are the favorite genres of Bollywood filmmakers. Artificial intelligence is now taking over the world. So much is happening around us that it’s too repetitive to watch the same old Dharma and Bhansali templates. It’s high time that Bollywood properly explores the following genres if they want to match up to International standards.

1. Science Fiction

While Bollywood has made some attempts in the sci-fi genre, there is still a lot of room for growth and improvement. The production of high-quality, concept-driven science fiction films with impressive visual effects and compelling storytelling is an area where Bollywood can expand its horizons.
