Bollywood actor Bobby Deol expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Salman Khan during a recent appearance at the Jagran Film Festival. Sharing insights into his remarkable comeback journey, Deol reminisced about the pivotal role Salman played in reigniting his career.
Recalling the turning point, Deol recounted how a single phone call from Salman, casually inquiring about a shirtless scene, eventually led to his significant role in the 2018 blockbuster Race 3. “Salman ko toh mai humesha thank you bolte rahu zindagi bhar. Salman ne mujhe ek din phone kia aur bola, ‘Mamu shirt utarega?’ Maine bola, ‘Mamu mai kuch bhi karunga.’ Toh bolta, ‘Aaja kal mere ghar.’ Toh uss wajah se mujhe Race 3 mili (I would keep thanking Salman for the rest of my life. Salman called me one day and said, ‘Mamu, will you go shirtless (for a film)?’ I replied, ‘Mamu, I’ll do anything.’ So, he said, ‘Come to my house tomorrow.’ That’s how I got Race 3),” shared Deol at the event, as reported by Pinkvilla.
Although his role in Race 3 didn’t entirely alter the trajectory of his career, it served as a catalyst for his comeback strong in the industry. Deol emphasized how the film opened doors to diverse opportunities such as Housefull 4, Netflix’s Class of 83, and Ashram.
With his upcoming project, Animal, alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol is reported to portray the antagonist, promising a gripping performance.
Animal is slated to hit the big screens on December 1, promising an intense cinematic experience.
