Bobby Deol Admits He Felt ‘Disgusted’ Playing Abrar In Animal

In roundtable talk, Bobby Deol recently admitted that he felt "disgusted" playing the role of Abrar in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's film, Animal.

Bollywood actor Bobby Deol made his smashing comeback on the big screen with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal. In the film, Bobby played the role of the lead antagonist named, Abrar. Following the release of the film, Bobby’s character “Abrar” was heavily criticized, for the “marital r*pe” scene in the film.

Following the controversy, recently the actor admitted that he indeed felt “disgusted” playing the role of Abrar in the film. In a roundtable on Film Companion, the actor said, “Yes, I used to feel disgusted with myself when I started shooting for it. But then I realized I am playing a character, why am I feeling so disgusted, so icky? Fir Maine unhi logon ke sath jinke sath scene mein jo bhi kiya hai, fir unke sath hum shaam ko sath mein baith ke khana kha rahe hain. Everything is normal”.

About Bobby Deol’s Character Abrar

For the unversed, Bobby Deol played the role of a character named, Abrar in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal. Soon after the release of the film, his character grabbed the headlines and was criticized for slaughtering men and sexually abusing women in the film.

Not only the audience but also Bobby’s mother and brother Sunny Deol also revealed that they felt uncomfortable with his role in the film. Sunny Deol revealed that there were some scenes in the film that he didn’t like in particular.

Bobby Deol’s Upcoming Movies

On the work front, after Animal, Bobby Deol will soon be making his debut in the Tamil film industry with South filmmaker Siva’s film, Kanguva. The film will feature Bobby Deol alongside actors Suriya, Disha Patani, and Jagapathi Babu among others.
