Bastar Twitter Review: Film Opens To “Mixed Reviews”, Fans Call It “Too Brutal”

Sudipto Sen's crime thriller, "Bastar: The Naxal Story" starring Adah Sharma opened up with "mixed reviews" from the public.

Bastar: The Naxal Story: After delivering the film, “The Kerala Story”, filmmaker Sudipto Sen is back with his much-anticipated film, “Bastar: The Naxal Story”. Starring Adah Sharma in the lead role the crime drama was released in the theatres on 15 March. However, unlike their previous film, “The Kerala Story”, Bastar has opened to mixed reviews from the moviegoers and public who stated that the film couldn’t live up to expectations. Bastar X (Twitter Review)

Sudipto Sen’s film, Bastar: The Naxal Story is actually based on and inspired by the real-life story and events surrounding the Naxals in Chattisgarh. The Bastar rebellion, which erupted in 1910, unfolded in what is now Chattisgarh.

Soon after the theatrical release of the film a segment of early watchers and moviegoers shared their reviews and watching experience of the film. Unfortunately, the crime drama opened up to “mixed” reviews from the public and critics. While some appreciated the film, others criticized the film for being too “brutal” and “disturbing”.

Sharing their review a user wrote, “#BastarTheNaxalStory Totally Cringe Movie Boring & Pathetic Without Story Rating 1 Adah Sharma Pls Take Retirement”.

Calling the film a “disaster” one user wrote, “#BastarTheNaxalStory review: DISASTER Politically motivated fictional story which has nothing to do with the reality. Cringe dialogues, overacting, bad editing, slow screenplay and various factors will affect the film badly.”

Calling the film “Brutal”, another user wrote, “#BastarFilm is a Brutal & Blunt Film which will leave an unforgettable impact on the audience ruthless action sequences, Heroics of #AdahSharma & Compelling supporting casts adds value to the film. The climax and bgm could have been better.”
