The upcoming film will also mark the second collaboration of the filmmaker with his “The Kerala Story” actress Adah Sharma. What is “Bastar: The Naxal Story” All About?

Media reports suggest that the film takes cues from historical occurrences such as the Bastar rebellion of 1910, which occurred in present-day Chhattisgarh. The uprising was triggered by the British policy of forest reservation. Several factors contributed to the rebellion, including controversial plans to reserve large forest areas and prohibit activities like shifting cultivation, hunting, and gathering forest resources.

Bastar: The Naxal Story Trailer

Sunshine Pictures recently unveiled the trailer of Adah Sharma’s highly anticipated film “Bastar.” The trailer portrays Adah in the role of an IPS officer combating the ‘third largest terrorist organization,’ the Maoists, responsible for more soldier casualties than those in the conflict with Pakistan. Additionally, the trailer offers glimpses of intense action sequences and the film’s portrayal of bloodshed.

Directed by Sudipto Sen and produced by Sunshine Pictures, spearheaded by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, along with Aashin A. Shah as co-producer, “Bastar: The Naxal Story” features Adah Sharma in the lead role. The film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on March 15, 2024.
