Anurag Kashyap Defends Ranbir Kapoor Starrer Animal, Says ”People In This Country Get Easily Offended With Films”

Black Friday guy Anurag Kashyap clarifies his stand on Animal, which side are you on as Film Fanatics?

‘Animal’ is wildly roaring at the box office creating new records with each passing day. The ‘Ranbir Kapoor’ Starrer has cruised over ‘Rs. 200 Crores’ in just 3 days since its release. This gangster-saga creation is full of high octane action, fancy cars , big guns and lots & lots of blood which is in turn successfully pulling fans into the theatres. However, the movie is also facing criticism from a certain segment of audiences for portraying masculine toxicity and extreme violence on the celluloid. Numerous film critics have expressed their concerns by stating that Animal’s theme is misogynistic in nature which promotes bloodshed and brutality.

Moreover, Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ director ‘Anurag Kashyap’ also recently shared his views regarding the same. The filmmaker defended the multi-starrer movie by backing the vision and rights of makers (producers). In a candid conversation with News 18 Showsha the man behind ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’ revealed, “I’m yet to watch Animal. I just returned from Marrakech. But I’m aware of the conversations happening online. Nobody has the right to tell a filmmaker what kind of films they should and shouldn’t make. People in this country get easily offended with films. They get offended with my films too. But I expect educated people to not get offended at the drop of a hat.”

Directed by the ‘Kabir Singh’ fame director ‘Sandeep Reddy Vanga’, Animal flaunts a star studded cast including the versatile ‘Bobby Deol’, ‘Anil Kapoor’, ‘Rashmika Mandanna’, ‘Suresh Oberoi’ and the latest national crush ‘Tripti Dhimri’. Helmed by ‘T-Series Films’ this monstrous movie is expected to mint over Rs. 500 crores at the Box Office, directly challenging all time blockbusters like ‘Dangal’, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.
