After Brahmastra, Vivek Agnihotri Tweets About Telugu Movie Sita Ramam

The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri is in no mood to spare the torchbearers of Bollywood. He has been actively shaming the mega-budget Bollywood film produced by Karan Johar, featuring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in the lead roles. He not only appreciated the ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend, but also rejected the media reports that compared Brahmastra’s box office performance with the success of ‘The Kashmir Files’.

He said in his latest tweet, “Hahahaha. I don’t know how did they beat #TheKashmirFiles… with sticks, rods, hockey… or AK47 or stones…. Or with paid PR and influencers? Let Bollywood films compete with each other. Leave us alone. I am not in that dumb race. Thanks.”

While he has no praiseworthy words for Brahmastra, Vivek Agnihotri tweeted about another film that has been making news lately. The filmmaker recently watched Telugu movie titled Sita Ramam which has been well-received by the audience in the southern belt and has now been released in theatres in Hindi as well.

Sita Ramam is a Telugu movie featuring Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. Appreciating the film and their performances, Vivek tweeted, “I watched @hanurpudi’s #SitaRamam last night. So refreshing to see @dulQuer … so impressive, his power comes from his genuineness. And what to say about young @mrunal0801 this is the first time I saw her performance… so fresh and original… she will be a big star. Wow. Congrats!”

Sita Ramam is a period romantic drama film co-written and directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema. The film is set in 1964. It was released theatrically on 5 August 2022. The film emerged as a critical and commercial success, grossing over Rs 100 crore at the box office. It was later released on OTT and was dubbed in Hindi for theatrical release.
