Vikas Kumar, who is popular for his role of senior inspector Rajat from the CID television series, talked about the most debated film of 2023 “Animal”. Vikas Kumar is very selective while talking about any vast subject. In an exclusive interview with Lehren, he shared his opinion on the controversial content and also shed some light on Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal”. He said that he looks towards any movie as a movie only and nothing more than that.
Animal movie faced criticism from the audience as well as many artists in the industry for its misogynistic tone and too much blood violence. Many said that he had created a negative impact on audiences, while many defended the movie saying it is just for entertainment purposes. But all these things really don’t impact Vikas Kumar. He said that, “There is an audience which is vulnerable and does identify such things. But there is a large number of people who are like that (following violence and all) even if you show or don’t show things like the Animal movie.” As everything has two sides, he called this controversy a “larger debate”. He put a simple opinion over it, saying, “Jisko jis kisam ka content na pasand ho, woh usse na dekhe (one must not watch a content that he or she doesn’t like).”
The movie itself says that the character is Animal, but apart from a film, Vikas Kumar never wants anyone to be a brother, husband or son like Ranbir Kapoor in Animal. In addition, he said that there are many movies and songs which should not have been made as they affect audiences. But even if you show good content, people and society are not going to change the very next day. He further added, “I personally look up to any kind of content from an entertainment perspective and if I don’t like it I just change it.”
