Bollywood star Mallika Sherawat and TV actress Pooja Bannerjee have reported to be falling into a legal trouble. The two stars were informed to be giving statements to the Enforcement Directorate, upon being questioned by them regarding a money laundering case. The case is linked to a betting website owned by Pakistani nationals which have ille allegedly “illegally” broadcast Men’s T20 World Cup match. Thiugh the actresses are not held accusedd officially, they were called by the ED for sharing statements during the investigations.
Several media reports suggest that the Enforcement Directorate recently conducted investigations in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune by performing searches into the Magicwin portal. For the same, film actress Mallika Sherawat and Television indsury’s popular face Pooja Banerjee were called by the ED with an order to either appear through a representative of their own, and directly come in-person.
Reportedly, Mallika was seen sending her recorded statement via a legal representative to the Ahmedabad office of ED, while Pooja herself arrived at the ED office, to get her words recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The two were heard of promoting Magicwin, the portal but were never really accused for the money laundering case. So far, as the investigation continues, the ED will be questioning more celebrities in the coming future in the case. According to the ED, a “launch party” for Magicwin, attended by several Bollywood stars, is under scrutiny. These celebrities also did video and photo shoots and shared promotions on social media. Ads for Magicwin were displayed on hoardings in places like Gujarat and Maharashtra.
The 48 year old actress was seen in the film Vicky Vidya Ka woh Wala Video, playing poignant role. She is populary known for her bold roles in movies. Pooja Banerjee on the other hand is a known for her significant roles in Kasauti Zindagi Kay Nagarjanua and many more.
