Is It Right To Call Woman A FOOL?: Divya Khossla Kumar On Karan Johar Derogatory Remarks

Divya said, “We are creative people, we are not in a share market, and by giving fake box office numbers, certain media persons also highlight bad films.

Vasan Bala’s directorial Jigra ft. Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina was released in theatres on October 11, Friday. The film opened with average numbers on Day 1 and continues to see a drop with each following day. What came beyond everybody’s expectation was a bunch of controversial remarks by director-actress Divya Khossla Kumar, who was recently seen in film SAVI. A few days ago upon Jigra release, Divya Khossla called out Alia Bhatt for creating fake box office collections sharing a picture of an empty theatre for a Jigra show. Though none of the actors had officially responded to her claims, producer Karan Johar indirectly took a dig calling her ‘fool’. Now, Divya Khossla Kumar has again slammed KJo on copying her film, and has revealed how Karan Johar is trying to shut her down, when she is willing to highlight his unethical practices

Divya Khossla Calls Out Karan Johar

Previously, claims of JIGRA being a copied version of DK’s Savi circled the internet. Following the same allegations, outrageous DK revealed in an interveiw with HTimes that the producer used derogatory terms in their PR articles to demean her. The Yaariyan director stated, “Today, when I speak up, Mr Karan Johar uses derogatory language to shut me down. Is it right to call a woman a fool for pointing out unethical practices? If this happens to me, what about those new to the industry? No one is a king here, and I won’t be treated like a subject. There are many more derogatory words which were used in their PR articles, and called my taking a stand as a PR stunt. I’m sorry, I don’t need one. I’m already well known.”

Further she discussed about her story that pointed out the rigging box office figures Jigra. Divya said, “We are creative people, we are not in a share market, and by giving fake box office numbers, certain media persons also highlight bad films. When good films work, no one talks about that. These people decide which film is will be declared a hit- as tickets are bought and fake collections are announced. And that’s why only those people will be able to survive here, who have money. New talent, will never be able to enter”.

What Is The War B/w Alia Bhatt – KJo And Divya About?

Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra was accused to be a copied version of Khossla’s movie SAVI. She alleged that both the stories are made on the same storyline, with the male lead being exchanged with a brother-figure instead of husband. She highlighted that SAVI went out infront of the audience first and Alia Bhatt’s uncle Mukesh Bhatt was the person behind this film’s production. Upon Jigra release, DK shared an empty theatre’s image on her story and questioned that despite having a lower occupancy, how is her film able to open with crores on its first day.
