Chris Evans on Returning to Marvel’s ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’: It is a “Dream Come True”

The ‘Ghosted’ Actor Also Appreciated MCU’s Latest Film on His Social Media.

Hollywood actor Chris Evans recently appeared in Marvel’s latest, Deadpool & Wolverine, and shared his experience returning to the MCU.

The Ghosted star shared a story on his Instagram on Wednesday, where he thanked and appreciated the film’s director, Shawn Lewy, and his leading co-stars, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. He said that he was grateful to be a part of Deadpool & Wolverine and called it an “incredible movie.”

Chris Evans, who first portrayed Johnny Storm in the Fantastic Four films of 2005 and 2007, reprised his role after 17 years in the latest Deadpool movie as a cameo. The actor called his experience a “dream come true” and said that his character (Johnny Storm) will eternally have “a special place in my heart.”

The crossover film, Deadpool & Wolverine, already boasts a star-studded cast with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine. The addition of Evans as Johnny Storm added another layer of excitement to the film, bringing together beloved characters from different Marvel franchises. The film was released last Friday, 26th July 2024, and currently running at the theatres. It made a box office collection of $211 million domestically and still counting.

Chris Evans is popular for portraying Steve Rogers aka Captain America in Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Avengers franchise. He exited the MCU and his titular role after the 2019 Marvel movie, Avengers: Endgame. Other than Evans, there were many superhero cameos which included Jenner Garner as Elektra, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Wesley Snipes as Blade and Blake Lively playing Lady Deadpool.

Marvel Studios continues to innovate with its storytelling, and the potential return of Evans highlights its commitment to exploring diverse and engaging narratives. The Deadpool & Wolverine crossover is directed by Shawn Levy, known for his ability to blend humour and action, which aligns perfectly with the film’s expected tone.
