R. Ravikumar’s much-awaited sci-fi Tamil film, starring Sivakarthikeyan Ayalaan was released in theatres on 12th January. The Tamil sci-fi has opened up to positive reviews from moviegoers and critics. And after receiving good reviews, the Tamil film registered a decent opening at the box office surpassing Sriram Raghavan’s film, Merry Christmas.
Ayalaan Box Office Collection Day 1
Sivakarthikeyan starrer Ayalaan was released in theatres on 12th January alongside several South films like Guntur Kaaram, Hanuman, and Captain Miller. However, despite the clash, the film opened up to good reviews from the critics and secured a decent opening at the box office. As per Sacnilk.com, the Tamil sci-fi, Ayalaan, earned approx. ₹ 4.00 Cr at the box office on its opening day.
Although Ayalaan failed to surpass Dhanush starrer Captain Miller (₹ 8.65 Cr ), Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram (₹ 42.00 Cr) and Teja Sajja’s Hanuman (₹ 11.91 Cr), the Tamil sci-fi still managed to secure a bigger opening than Katrina Kaif starrer Merry Christmas ( ₹ 2.55 Cr).
The Tamil film is expected to see growth during the weekend. If all goes well, the sci-fi is expected to cross the 10cr mark by the end of the weekend.
