Australian cricketer David Warner, who is known for his strong connection with Telugu audiences is all set to make his debut in Indian cinema. David, who was once the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad Indian Premiere League’s cricket team, will appear in a cameo role in the upcoming action crime-thriller film ‘Robinhood’ starring Nithiin in the lead role. After a much-anticipation, the news was confirmed by the film’s producer Ravi Shankar himself during a grand event, recently.
It is widely known how David Warner has often expressed his admiration for Telugu films and music -who entertained fans with social media posts featuring dance moves from popular Tollywood songs. Especially his video mimicking Allu Arjun’s moves from ‘Pushpa’ widely caught attention and made him favourite among Telugu audience, to which many fans even dreamt of seeing him enter Tollywood industry – and now with ‘Robinhood’ it seems the moment has finally arrived!
According to reports, cricketer David Warner filmed his portion in September 2024 during the Australia schedule of ‘Robinhood’. Fans had already noticed his presence on the film’s set, sparking speculation. When Warner started following Nithiin and director Venky Kudumula on Instagram, the rumours gained momentum. Now, with the official confirmation, Telugu and cricket fans are excited to see Warner in a new avatar on the big screen.

‘Robinhood,’ directed by Venky Kudumula and featuring Sreeleela as the female lead, is set for release on March 28, 2025. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and promises to be an entertaining venture. With David Warner’s cameo, the excitement around the movie has reached another level!
