In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube show, ‘Unplugged,’ Shami fiercely refuted the rumors and took aim at those spreading false information. He acknowledged that memes are created for humor and entertainment but emphasized that they should be made responsibly to avoid offending others. Shami also mentioned that if the memes had come from a verified social media account, he would have addressed them differently.
He said, “”Ajeeb hi hai aur hai kya usme? zabardasti kiya hai par kya karien? Phone kholo toh apna hi photo dikhta hai. Lekin mai ek hi cheez bolna chahunga – Kisiko nehi kheechna chahiye aisa. Main maanta hu memes aapke mazaak ke liye hai lekin kisi ke life se related hote hai. Toh aapko bari soch samajh kar memes banana chahiye. Aaj aap verified page nehi ho, aapka address nehi hai, known nehi ho toh aap bol sakte ho.” (It’s quite strange, and what is there in it? It’s been forced, but what can we do?
