AR Rahman-Saira Banu Divorce: Lawyer Vandana Shah Denies Linkup With Mohini Dey Amid The Split

Vandana Shah, the lawyer also highlighted that it was a very painful decision for both Saira as well as Rahman as it brings an end to their 29 years of existence.

Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman announced his divorce with wife Saira Banu recently on Tuesday shocking the audience to the core. Minutes after Rahman released his statement about ending his 29 years of marriage, his bassist Mohini Dey also announced her divorce with beau Mark. She wrote, “With a heavy heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. First, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us. Fans were shocked to the see the timing and could not easily digest it as a mere co-incidence. As speculations began to rise above, AR Rahman and wife Saira Banu’s lawyer has broken silence to shut the rumors in the air.

Vandana Shah REACTS To Rumors Of Mohini Dey- AR Rahman Connection

Lawyer Vandana Shah, who earlier announced the divorce via a legal statement turned up to dismiss the links between the divorce of AR Rahman and Mohini Dey. In a conversation with Republic TV, Vandan claimed, “Not at all. There is no link between the two. Saira and Mr Rahman have taken this decision on their own. There is no link between the two news at all.” During the interaction, she also offered more insights of the divorce proceedings between the two. She said there is no discussion held regarding the financial matters between the two. “It has not come to this stage yet. It would be an amicable divorce. Both of them are extremely genuine, and this decision was not taken lightly. It is not what you would call a sham marriage,” Vandana added.

Vandana, the lawyer also highlighted that it was a very painful decision for both Saira as well as Rahman as it brings an end to their 29 years of existence. However, marking that she is not at liberty to disclose the real reason behind the divorce, she simply stated that Saira Banu has been through her own ups and downs while she was in this marriage.

For the unversed, A R. Rahman’s bassist Mohini Dey is an Indian bass artist, who has done over 40 shows with A R. Rahman. She belongs to Kolkata and is a member of Gaan Bangla’s Wind of Change.
