In a shocking turn of events, tension arose in Beverly Hills after several gunshots were fired toward the home of global pop star Rihanna. Police confirmed that the incident happened on Sunday afternoon while the singer was inside the property.
As reported by Los Angeles Times, according to officials, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report of gunfire around 1:20 p.m. local time on March 8. Authorities quickly reached the scene and began investigating.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Police Arrest Suspect After Shooting
Police said that “approximately 10 shots” were fired from a vehicle across the street from the mansion. The bullets reportedly struck the gate of the property, while at least one round is believed to have hit a wall of the residence.
Officers later confirmed that a woman in her 30s was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. The suspect had allegedly fled the area but was later located in a shopping centre parking lot in Sherman Oaks.
Law enforcement officials also recovered a weapon during the arrest.
Investigators are still working to determine the motive behind the attack.
Rihanna Was Reportedly Inside The Mansion
Reports suggest that Rihanna was inside the home when the shooting took place. She lives at the Beverly Hills property with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky and their children.
The couple share three kids together – their first son RZA, born in May 2022, their second son Riot, born in August 2023 and their daughter Rocki Irish Mayers, who was welcomed in September last year.
So far, Rihanna has not publicly commented on the incident.
Investigation Continues
Police say the investigation remains ongoing as they try to understand why the shooting occurred. While the incident raised concerns about safety, authorities confirmed that everyone inside the residence was unharmed.
For now, officials continue to examine evidence related to the case.
