After Musician, AR Rahman’s Bassist Mohini Dey Announces Separation From Husband

AR Rahman’s bassist, Mohini Dey, shares her separation from husband Mark Hartsuch, emphasizing mutual respect and ongoing collaboration.

On Tuesday evening, back-to-back two significant separations shook the entertainment world. First, music maestro AR Rahman and his wife Saira Banu revealed their split after almost 3 decades of marriage and later, just hours after, AR Rahman’s bassist Mohini Dey also shared her own news of separating from her husband, Mark Hartsuch.

In a joint Instagram post, Mohini and Mark confirmed their decision to part ways was mutual. AR Rahman’s bassist, 29, expressed her emotions saying, “With a heavy heart, Mark and I announce that we have separated. First, as a commitment to our friends and family, this is a mutual understanding between us. While we remain great friends, we both have decided that we want different things in life and separation through mutual agreement was the best way to proceed.”

Despite their separation, Mohini assured her fans that both will continue to collaborate with eachother on their projects. She noted that their professional work will continue without interruption. “We will still be working on several projects together including MaMoGi and Mohini Dey groups. We have always prided ourselves on working well together and that will not be stopping any time soon :),” she wrote.

Further, the bassist also asked some privacy and asked support from her followers by respecting their privacy during this difficult time. In conclusion, she wrote, “Please honor the decision we have made by being positive towards us at this time and respecting our privacy. We would appreciate no judgements.”

Alongside Mohini’s announcement, AR Rahman and Saira Banu’s divorce also made headlines, leaving his fans stunned. The musician had shared his emotions on X (formerly Twitter) attributing their decision to the “significant emotional strain” in their relationship. The couple are the parents to three children, who got married in the year 1995.
