Vir Das ‘s Indirect Dig At Podcast Culture

Vir Das took to his X and penned down that people should be asked to give an IQ Test before they begin with a podcast. His tweet read, “Okay…hear me out…imagine a world where….you have to take a tiny IQ test, maybe a basic reasoning exam…you pass both….above a certain metric…and THEN…..and ONLY THEN…..you’re allowed to start a podcast. Better world? Worse?”

This reaction by Vir Das comes out as a response to the ongoing controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia. Before this also, Vir reacted to the IGL controversy where he remarked his views through a long penned note on instagram. As he wrote, “The audience is always welcome to debate what good comedy is. A good artist will take their feedback head down, mouth shut, and maybe evolve. Either the way, the consequences of your comedy on your career and audience are pretty instant. That’s a natural process.”
