The trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King Telugu has been released, showcasing Mahesh Babu’s voiceover as Mufasa. This announcement had fans excited, especially since Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan is voicing the Hindi version of the film. The reactions to the Telugu trailer have come out notably positive.
In his social media post unveiling the trailer, Mahesh Babu shared his excitement, stating, “A new dimension to the character we know and love! Extremely excited to be the voice of Mufasa in Telugu and having been a massive fan of the classic, this is a special one for me! Long live the king.”
The trailer also features Brahmanandam and Ali returning to voice Pumbaa and Timon. Their familiar humour adds to the trailer, but it is Mahesh Babu’s voice that stands out. Fans have expressed their amazement, with comments on Reddit such as, “I didn’t expect it to be this good…” and “Wow! The dubbing is much better than I thought! I don’t mind watching this in Telugu at all.”
Some fans also noted the quality of Brahmanandam and Ali’s performances, referencing their previous work in the 2019 Telugu version of The Lion King. There was also a fan who playfully speculated saying, “I have a strong feeling Disney agreed to produce Rajamouli and Babu movie and that’s why Babu did this. Regardless, his voice is actually really good in this.”
As the Mufasa: The Lion King Telugu trailer is now available, anticipation is high for the film’s release, scheduled for December 20, 2024. The movie will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
