For years now, Govinda’s personal life has often made headlines since his career took off and currently due to statements made by his wife Sunita Ahuja in interviews. While the actor himself has largely remained silent, Govinda’s nephew Vinay Anand has now reacted to her recent claims about his uncle allegedly having an affair with a newcomer named Komal.
In a recent interview with Hindi Rush, the actor highly known for his work in Bhojpuri cinema, Vinay Anand, was asked directly about Sunita’s comments. He responded sharing how he handled the situation within the family.
Govinda’s Nephew Says “He Is Like A Father To Me”
At first Vinay admitted that he did not want to interfere. As he explained, “He is my uncle and it is a father kind of a relationship with him.” He said he didn’t want Govinda to feel that he was interfering in his personal matters.
However, the curiosity stayed with him. He eventually decided to ask his uncle directly about the rumours. And shared what actually happened, “But I asked him once do you have an affair with someone? He told me, ‘No, there is nothing like that.’ When Govinda refused, I accepted it, but when I see mami’s (Sunita) interviews, I feel a bit weird, because we have seen her always respecting Govinda.” Vinay made it clear that he chose to believe his uncle’s response.
Not The First Time He’s Been Linked
Talking further about the affair allegations with a newcomer named Komal made by actor’s wife Sunita Ahuja, Vinay pointed out that such rumours are not new in Govinda’s career.
“It is not new that Govinda has been linked to an actress. He has been a superstar, he has been linked too many actresses in the past. In the beginning, when he was working a lot with Neelam Kothari, he was linked to her. People also suspected affair between him and Rani Mukerji when he was working a lot with her and when he was working with Karisma Kapoor public said that something is happening between them.”
He suggested that link-up rumours are common when actors work closely together.
Praising Aunt Sunita Ahuja’s New Journey
Despite the controversy, Vinay also spoke positively about his aunt and said that he is happy to see her growing professionally. “I am happy that now she is working, she has become a celebrity and she has made a name for herself. We had seen her confined in four walls of the house and now seeing her work makes me feel very happy. I feel every woman woman should be independent.”
Sunita recently started her YouTube channel and is reportedly set to make her film debut in a project backed by Ektaa Kapoor.
