The legal fight between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over Château Miraval, the French winery has intensified. The 61-year-old actor has now filed court documents seeking private communications and testimony from Alexey Oliynik, an employee of Stoli Group – the company that purchased Jolie’s stake in the winery.
The documents, filed in California’s Superior Court on June 30, claim that Oliynik has important information about Jolie’s 2021 sale of her shares to Tenute del Mondo, Stoli’s wine division. Brad Pitt believes the sale violated a previous agreement which stated that neither of them could sell their shares without the other’s approval.
Back in February 2022, Pitt sued Jolie over the deal. The 50-year-old actress responded with a countersuit, accusing him of “waging a vindictive war” since their 2016 separation. Her legal team argued that Pitt wouldn’t buy her out unless she signed a non-disclosure agreement preventing her from speaking about alleged abuse – including an incident on a 2016 private jet flight. While no charges were filed, it remains a central point in the dispute.

Brad Pitt’s team insists that accessing Oliynik’s communication is crucial to proving Angelina Jolie acted “with malice” by making the deal with a party Brad had long opposed. Oliynik however has refused to cooperate, citing his residence in Switzerland.
Though the couple finalized their divorce in December 2023, the Miraval case continues. A judge recently ordered Jolie to produce eight years’ worth of NDAs, suggesting they may play a key role in the ongoing arguments.
A source close to Jolie said she hopes for peace, while someone close to Pitt claimed Jolie’s actions have caused “tremendous collateral damage” to their family.
