After a year of speculations, filmmaker Kussh Sinha has spoken up about the controversy surrounding his absence at sister Sonakshi Sinha’s wedding to actor Zaheer Iqbal. The wedding, which took place on June 23, 2024 was a private affair held at Sonakshi’s residence in Mumbai. While the ceremony was followed by a grand reception with many Bollywood stars in attendance, the noticeable absence of her brothers Luv and Kussh caught fans’ attention.
In a recent interview with Moneycontrol, Kussh Sinha said, “I’ll just put it shortly. I was there. So, you know, whoever has put out that story, should have done the fact checking because I was clearly there.”
The director shared that such rumours didn’t affect the family dynamic. “We don’t even know who is doing that, so we just let these things go. At the end of the day, we’re a united family. I do care for my sister. She does care for me. So we’re good,” he told Zoom. He also commented on his bond with Sonakshi’s husband Zaheer, keeping it short and clear: “It’s fine. There are no issues there.”
“There was a lot of talk about me not attending my sister’s wedding, and honestly, that was fake news,” Kussh Sinha told News18. “I had clarified last year itself, I was there. She’s my sister, and at the end of the day, I respect and love her.”
However, earlier In an interview with Lehren, their father – veteran superstar Shatrughan Sinha said, “Shayad mai bhi us age me rehta toh mera sochne ke ravvaiya kuch alag hota. But ab seniority hai, maturity hai… I stood like a pillar for my daughter and blessed the newly weds with all my love.”
While Sonakshi gears up for her upcoming supernatural thriller Nikita Roy, which releases on June 27, the film also marks Kussh Sinha’s directorial debut – making this an exciting moment for the family despite the ongoing noise.
