“You Feel Arrested When She Stares At You,” Ishaan Khatter on His ‘The Perfect Couple’ Co-star Nicole Kidman

Ishaan, who had the opportunity to work closely with her on The Perfect Couple, expressed how awe-inspiring the experience was.

Ishaan Khatter about Nicole Kidman, he said, “She’s a true global icon. Her eyes are something else—kind of earth shattering, just want you to get arrested when
she stares at you and they’re almost hypnotic.” Ishaan further shared that many of the younger actors on set felt the same way but that he found it an enriching experience. “I embraced it, looked right into her eyes and used that energy to fuel my character,” he added.

Aside from her on-screen presence, Ishaan Khatter also spoke about Nicole’s personality off-camera. He described her as kind and nurturing, always looking out for everyone on set. “She’s such a maternal figure, in the best way possible. Even though she’s been doing this for so long, she still brings a calm, steady energy to the set,” Ishaan noted. He also appreciated her curiosity and respect for different cultures, adding, “It was really nice to see how genuinely interested she was in learning about our culture.”

The Perfect Couple is a mystery drama based on Elin Hilderbrand’s 2018 novel. Directed by Susanne Bier, the show was developed by Jenna Lamia and premiered on Netflix on September 5, 2024.
