In a surprising turn of events, Shah Rukh Khan and his family have moved out of their iconic sea-facing home ‘Mannat’ due to extensive renovation work. The Bollywood’s ultimate superstar, alongwith his wife Gauri Khan and their children has shifted to a luxury apartment in Pali Hill, Bandra for the time being. The renovation project, which has been in the works for months will include adding two more floors to the Mannat Annexe. Given its heritage status, the expansion required clearance from authorities before construction could begin.
During this period, the Khan family will be living in a rented apartment in Pali Hill. As per reports, Shah Rukh Khan’s production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, has signed a lease agreement with film producer Vashu Bhagnani’s family for two duplex apartments. The rent for these luxury residences is reportedly around ₹24 lakh per month. Each duplex comes with spacious interiors, providing ample space for the family, security personnel and staff.
The approved expansion will increase the built-up area of Shah Rukh Khan ‘s Mannat by approximately 616.02 square meters. Gauri Khan an experienced interior designer is personally overseeing the project. Reports suggest that the renovation, estimated at ₹25 crore will take at least 18 to 24 months to complete. The goal is to modernize the interiors while keeping the structure’s classic appeal intact.
