The unexpected passing of businessman Sunjay Kapur has left many in the entrepreneurial and entertainment sectors in disbelief. The 53-year-old industrialist died from a heart attack that occurred during a polo match. Sunjay was married three times, with Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor being his second spouse. He is presently married to Priya Sachdeva, and there is limited information available regarding his first wife.
In 1996, Sunjay Kapur married fashion designer and socialite Nandita Mahtani. Their union lasted for four years, concluding in 2000 when their divorce was finalized. Nandita comes from a family with a business background. Her brother, Bharat Mahtani, is an entrepreneur, and her sister, Anu, is married to billionaire Sanjay Hinduja.
Nandita is not only a socialite but also a renowned fashion designer in Mumbai. She has worked with numerous celebrities and has styled many stars from Bollywood. Among her most notable clients to date is star cricketer Virat Kohli. Her elegant and sophisticated choices have established her as a prominent figure in the fashion industry.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Nandini’s romantic life has garnered considerable attention. Reports indicate that in the early 2000s, she was involved with actor Dino Morea, with whom she co-established the fashion brand Playground. Subsequently, Nandita was briefly associated with Ranbir Kapoor. The actor has openly confessed to being ‘attracted’ to Nandita, stating, “I found her beautiful, simple, and warm, which is quite different from the socialite image she is often portrayed as. We dined together; it was nothing serious. My mother was aware of my crush on her.” Ranbir remarked.
