Directed by Ashok Gaikwad, originally titled Sabse Badi Adalat – Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat was Rani’s debut in the Indian cinema, where she starred opposite Shadaab Khan, son of the legendary villain Amjad Khan aka Gabbar Singh. Rani Mukerji, Lehren takes you to the time when she discussed her early career, debut, and experience working alongside Shadaab Khan and getting the first-ever break into the film career right after her 12th boards examination were finished.
Rani says it was just one fine day that the renowned director Salim Akhtar, came forward and approached Rani for a Bollywood movie straight-up. Surprised by his words Rani asked back, “How Can I Do this film?” To this, Salim replied that he sees her as his future heroine and he really wanted her to perform the role in Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat. Despite joining Mithibai college for her future endeavours by choosing F.Y. B.A for her graduation, Rani Mukerji revealed that she got so excited on hearing the script that she agreed to do the role.
In this interaction with Lehren, Rani Mukerji also discussed about her work experience with her co-actor Shadaab, and thanked director Salim Akhtar for giving her the first-break of her career.
