Late actor Rajesh Khanna has been a renowned name in the history of Indian cinema. The actor was originally married to Dimple Kapadia, in the year 1973. However, this marriage was not a peaceful one for a longer time. In just one decade, Dimple and Rajesh separated from each other, without proceeding for any divorce. Even though the two never filed for a divorce officially, but began to live separately right from 1982. After staying alone for a long time, Khanna began to live with former actress Anita Advani – a relationship that lasted until Khanna passed away in 2012.

Anita Advani REVEALS Actor Used To Hit Her: “I Used To Hit Him Back..”
Behind what originally seemed like “deep love”, there were also instances of complications in their relationship. In an exclusive interaction with Avanti Films, former actress Anita Advani remarked that Rajesh Khanna was a very calm and peaceful person, but also noted that he also had a negative side, where he sometimes used to beat her out in angst. As quoted by her, “He was very calm at times, and at times very…,” followed by a silence. When asked whether he wasviolent or not, Anita claimed that, “Violent nahi the, par kabhi kabhi maar diya, toh mai do-chaar wapis bhi maar deti thi”.
Anita alleged instances of being hit by Khanna, particularly when he was intoxicated. “He would sometimes hit me, and my reflex was to hit him back,” she admitted, recalling his complaints about being scratched by her nails. Anita Advani has recently published a new book labelled as “The Endearingly Wicked Ways Of Rajesh Khanna“. In the book, she has written tales about Rajesh Khanna and has discussed about the times they have spent together.

In the interview, she revealed that even though they never married each other, Rajesh Khanna had openly accepted her as his partner. Talking further about the complicated relationship, Anita Advani revealed that Rajesh had given her a kada in front of the Balaji shrine as a symbol of acceptance.
This was not the first time the former actress has talked about this side of Rajesh Khanna. Earlier, in 2013, in an interaction with Rediff, during her Bigg Boss 7 stint – Anita Advani had claimed that Khanna tends to be a very difficult person to live with when drunk, but also the nicest one to be around, when sober.
Khanna was one of the highly acclaimed actors of the Bollywood. He solely had a record of giving in 15 consecutive solo hit films – a record that remains unbeaten till date. His charismatic screen presence, unique dialogue delivery, and soulful expressions made him a cultural icon of the Indian cinema. Beside the film line, Khanna also joined in politics, serving as the Member of Parliament in the 1990s.
