MET Gala 2020 Theme announced!

Met Gala inorder to give those on the invite-only guest list time to prepare for the event has announced the theme for the 2020 event and exhibit: "About Time: Fashion and Duration."

The Metropolitan Museum of Art will reach there next mileston in 2020, as the museum will celebrate its 150th anniversary. For their anniversary they will showcase new exhibits, public events and of course the highly anticipated Met Gala. All the top people from the fashion industry to celebrities from all over the world grace the red carpet of the Met Gala every year dressed in the most impeccable ensembles that goes with the theme.

For 2019 the theme for the Met Gala was Camp: Notes to Fashion, we saw some of the most extravagant, luxurious, over the top outfits. From Lady Gaga to Cardi B, Kim Kardashian, Priyanka Chopra and more took the red carpet by storm. And like every year, this year as well would be the same as people have already started to gear up of MET Gala 2020. 

The theme for Met Gala 2020 is  ‘About Time: Fashion and Duration’ and Andrew Bolton, the Wendy Yu Curator in Charge of The Costume Institute in a press release said, “Fashion is indelibly connected to time. It not only reflects and represents the spirit of the times, but it also changes and develops with the times, serving as an especially sensitive and accurate timepiece.” This year people are even more excited for the Gala as it would be completing a century and a half.

At the 2019 Met Gala, Lady Gaga hosted the event and for Met Gala 2020 the show will be chaired by Nicolas Ghesquière the artistic director of Louis Vuitton women’s wear, Lin-Manuel Miranda creator of Hamilton, actresses Emma Stone and Meryl Streep and Met Gala staple Anna Wintour. This will also be Meryl Streep’s first-ever Met Gala.
