Lionel Richie Says No To This Babyname For His Grandkid Ahead Of Baby’s Birth

He strictly said no to one name. He said, “You can't call her Lionella.” He clarified in an interview with ENews. The meaning of Lionella is little lioness, which derived from his own first name.

Famous American singer and songwriter Lionel Richie, father of three, is about to welcome his grandchild between May and June. He is excited about this new baby, but ahead of his birth, he showed his red signal to one name. 

Lionel Richie’s daughter Sofia and her husband Elliot Grainge will welcome their first child soon. Lionel Richie made it clear that he didn’t want to dominate or intervene in between parents’ choices of baby’s name, but he strictly said no to one name. He said, “You can’t call her Lionella.” He clarified in an interview with ENews. The meaning of Lionella is little lioness, which derived from his own first name. But he also said that he had left this decision to the baby’s parents.

The “Endless Love” singer already has experience of handling grandchildren. He is grandpa of Harlow and Sparrow, his eldest daughter Nicole Richie’s kids. But he is damn excited about his other grandchild and has said, “I would be that loving Pop-Pop that comes in the door and spoils the child.”

Richie raised his 3 children and made them independent, and now he wants to enjoy his grandfather phase. He said, “I can’t wait to start laughing because it’s at that point now where I said, ‘You’re having a little girl, mm-hmm.” He talked about the kind of relationship he shared with all his kids, including grandchildren. Each child has a different relationship with him which he loves and everyone has their own personality.
