Dua Lipa Almost Quit Music Because Of THIS Reason

Dua Lipa explained that the abuse she suffered got so bad that she almost quit the music world completely but now feels confident no matter what trolls tell her.

Dua Lipa has become one of the UK’s biggest performers since she burst onto the music scene back in 2015. However, there was a time when she almost quit music to walk away from her dreams after becoming the target of vicious online trolls. Moreover, the number one album and singles may never have happened, if she had given in to her initial fears as she was bullied by online trolls.

The singer has explained that the abuse she suffered got so bad that she almost quit the music world completely but now feels confident no matter what trolls tell her. In a recent interview, Dua explained, “There were moments of self-doubt, even though it was kind of unfair because a lot of the people that had sent those messages or were saying things online actually hadn’t been to one of my shows.” She added, “Social media is kind of run on this toxic currency of who can make people laugh at the expense of others.” However, now if anybody says anything, it doesn’t even bother her.

Meanwhile, previously, Dua discussed how she turned to Russell Brand for support and advice when she found herself struggling to deal with trolls. She said, “I was interested in starting therapy and he came through with a recommendation. I was going through an intense period.” The star also explained how she has changed over the past year, which saw her end her romance with Anwar Hadid.

The Levitating singer and model began dating in June 2019 and the couple has given fans a glimpse of their romance on social media ever since. However, Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid parted ways after dating for two years in December last year. The couple reportedly failed to recover their romance despite taking a break and engaging in crisis talks. Previously, it was reported that their relationship was on the rocks.

The pop sensation and the younger brother of Gigi and Bella Hadid have not been seen together for almost eight weeks due to their busy work schedules, claimed The Sun. Meanwhile, Anwar said in a cryptic Instagram post he is grateful for loved ones ‘guiding my steps, allowing me to learn to be happy with myself.’ Talking about her romance with Anwar to Rolling Stone magazine, Dua Lipa said earlier this year, “I’m very comfortable in the relationship, more so than any others.”
