In a surprising turn of events, T.J. Miller who played the role of Weasel in the Deadpool films has had a change of heart regarding his relationship with Ryan Reynolds. After previously stating that he would never work with Reynolds again due to personal conflicts, Miller now says Reynolds is “a good friend”. Speaking on SiriusXM’s The Bonfire, Miller expressed excitement about the possibility of returning for Deadpool 4.
“We talked a little while ago. He’s just been such a good friend right now. I think returning for Deadpool 4 would be awesome,” Miller shared.
Miller’s remarks mark a stark contrast to his comments back in 2022. During an interview on The Adam Carolla Show, Miller had accused Reynolds of being “horrifically mean” while filming Deadpool 2. At the time, he claimed Reynolds spoke to him in a condescending way even addressing him as his character Weasel. This added fuel to rumors of tension between the two stars.
However, Miller later clarified the situation saying that Reynolds reached out to him directly to clear the air. On Jim Norton & Sam Roberts Show, Miller explained that Reynolds had sent an email acknowledging the misunderstanding. “It was really cool. He emailed me the next day, and it was a misunderstanding”, he revealed. The two actors appear to have patched things up since then.
Miller’s return to Deadpool 4 is not yet confirmed but his comments indicate a potential for reconciliation. While Deadpool 3 (featuring Reynolds and Hugh Jackman) brought back the old Deadpool magic, Miller’s absence in the recent Deadpool & Wolverine film raised questions about his future in the franchise.
Ryan Reynolds has also hinted that Deadpool 4 might be a while off, mentioning his busy schedule and family life as factors. Still, the success of Deadpool & Wolverine has sparked new hope for future installments. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Miller will join the cast in the next chapter of the Deadpool saga.
