Ahan Shetty, the son of Bollywood superstar Suniel Shetty is all set to follow in his father’s footsteps by joining the upcoming war movie Border 2. This film is the sequel to the cult-classicn1997 movie Border, which was a major hit and is still loved by many. With this new cast, Border 2 is adding some of today’s rising stars, bringing fresh excitement to the series.
Ahan Shetty Joins Border 2
Ahan, who made his debut in the movie Tadap, is now part of the Border 2 cast. The news was shared through a teaser video posted by Sunny Deol, one of the original stars of Border. Sunny, who will reprise his role in the sequel, welcomed Ahan to the movie by posting, “Welcoming Fauji @ahan.shetty to the Battalion of #Border2.”
This announcement has generated a lot of excitement among fans and others in the film industry. Ahan also shared his feelings on Instagram, saying he is honoured to be part of the Border legacy. He wrote, “Border is more than just a movie—it’s a legacy, an emotion, and a dream come true. Being part of Border 2 is an absolute honour.” Ahan also thanked his father Suniel Shetty for his continuous guidance and support.

Suniel Shetty, proud of his son’s achievement, left a heartfelt comment on Ahan’s post. He wrote, “Love you, my baby,” showing how happy he is for his son’s big moment. The father-son bond was clear, with Suniel expressing his joy at seeing his son step into such a big role.
The cast includes current sensational actors like Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, including Sunny Deol, and now, Ahan Shetty joins this ensemble cast. The movie is directed by Anurag Singh, who is known for movies like Kesari and Punjab 1984. The makers have already called Border 2 “India’s biggest war film”.
Border 2 is set to release on January 23, 2026 and is expected to follow in the footsteps of the original film, which was loved for its powerful story about the bravery of Indian soldiers. Fans are eagerly waiting to see how this new version will honour the original while adding a modern twist.
