‘Stree 2’ directed by Amar Kaushik, has been one of the most-awaited sequels in Bollywood history, especially after the audience witnessed the magic of the original in 2018. Released on 15th August, ‘Stree 2’ broke all records, becoming a massive hit. While there were doubts about whether the sequel could surpass its part one, Maddock Films proved that it is possible with their continuous successful supernatural comedy-horror films. Continuing this reign, ‘Stree 2’ crosses ₹300 crore mark, doubling the collection of the original.
‘Stree 2’ crosses ₹300 crore mark worldwide in just its second Friday since release, taking the box office by storm with a total collection of ₹308 crore. On Day 9, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer minted ₹16.5 crore nett in India. Looking at this momentum, the day isn’t far before the film reaches the ₹500 crore mark.
Though the film is titled ‘Stree’ and stars Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana and Abhishek Banerjee collectively have more screen space than the lead actress. However, recent reports suggest that the makers are looking forward to exploring more of Shraddha’s character in a future project. Fans are excited about this possibility, though nothing has been confirmed in detail yet.
According to Stree 2 writer Niren Bhatt, all the characters from their films, including Stree, Bhediya and Munjya are important, and there’s a growing interest in expanding their stories. However, the exact timing and format for these expansions remain uncertain.
The anticipation for a spin-off is high, and fans are eager to see how this exciting narrative will unfold and fans on Reddit have expressed their excitement, with one user stating, “I felt like she was barely in the film. Rajkumar, abhishek, aparshakti collectively had more screen time (and were the backbone of the film). But with this much goodwill, I think the spin off will do really well”.

Even her character is very serious kind… So her solo movie needs to be action horror. In ‘Stree 2,’ Shraddha’s character exits in the climax in a mysterious way, where it is revealed that she is the daughter of ‘Stree.’ This suspenseful ending has left fans eager to know what’s coming next. These reports hint at something greater than fans might be expecting.
