B Praak Speaks Out Against Ranveer Allahbadia ’s Comments

Singer B Praak has decided to cancel his scheduled appearance on Ranveer Allahbadia ’s podcast after the YouTuber and podcaster’s controversial remarks on the show “India’s Got Latent” sparked a social media backlash. The singer took to Instagram to share a video message criticizing the statements made on the show, calling them inappropriate and harmful to Indian culture.

After BeerBiceps aka Ranveer Allahbadia’s derogatory comments made during the show it stirred up heated discussions online. Leading to the dynamic singer also joined the array of speaking against the YouTuber’s comments and made it clear that he does not support such content and believes influencers should use their platform responsibly.

B Praak Calls Out Content That Sends a ‘Wrong Message’

In his video shared on social media, B Praak expressed disappointment with the kind of humour being presented publicly, questioning whether it could even be considered comedy. He said, “I was supposed to appear on a podcast, on Beer Biceps, and we cancelled that. Why? Since we are all seeing how pathetic his thinking is. The choice of words that he has used on Samay Raina’s show.”

Adding on, he further added, “Ye humara Indian culture nahi hai. Ye humara culture hi nahi hai. Ap apne parents ke kaun si story bata rahe ho? Ap unki kaun si baatein kar rahe ho? Ye comedy hain? This is not at all comedy. Logo ko gaaliyan dena, logon ko gaaliyan sikhana, ye kaun si generation… mereko samajh hi nahi aa raha (This is not our Indian culture. What story are you telling about your parents? What are you even talking about them? Is this comedy? You are abusing people, teaching them how to abuse… I fail to understand this generation).”

And his caption of the post read: “My Humble Humble Request To All The Standup Comedians Please Save Our Indian Culture And Respect🙏”

FIR Filed Against Ranveer Allahbadia and Others

The controversy erupted after Ranveer Allahbadia, during an episode of “India’s Got Latent” posed a question to a contestant that many found offensive. Following this, multiple police complaints were filed against him, comedian Samay Raina, social media influencer Apoorva Makhija and other individuals associated with the show.

The question in focus was: “Would you rather watch your parents have s*x for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?” This statement led to widespread criticism online with many calling for stricter guidelines on digital content.

Apart from B Praak writer and lyricist Manoj Muntashir also called out the remarks of Ranveer Allahbadia, urging the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to take action. Also, another well-known writer Neelesh Misra voiced similar concerns, questioning how such statements could be aired in the name of entertainment.

Ranveer Allahbadia Issues an Apology

Amidst the growing backlash, yesterday Ranveer Allahbadia released a video apology on social media stating, “I shouldn’t have said what I said on India’s Got Latent. I’m sorry… My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte, I am just here to say sorry.”

However, despite the apology, many online users believe that influential content creators should be held accountable for the impact of their words.
