The much-awaited trailer of ‘Sikandar’ was finally released on Sunday and apart from the action-packed visuals, the film made headlines for another reason – the 31-year age gap between lead actors Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. During the launch event, Salman Khan addressed this topic in his own style when questioned about the casting choice.
At the press meet, Salman Khan didn’t hold back when asked about working with an actress significantly younger than him. He said, “If Rashmika doesn’t have a problem, her father doesn’t have a problem, then why do you have a problem?” His response was met with laughter from the audience. He further added, “When she gets married and has a daughter, and if she becomes a big star, then I’ll work with her too. We’ll take her mother’s permission for sure.”
Despite the age gap debate, Salman Khan praised Rashmika Mandanna for her dedication to the film. He revealed that she was simultaneously working on ‘Pushpa 2’ while shooting for ‘Sikandar.’ “She would wrap up ‘Pushpa 2’ at 7 pm and come straight to our set at 9 pm, working till early morning and then heading back. Even after an injury, she continued shooting without taking a break,” Salman said.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, ‘Sikandar’ is an action-packed film where Salman Khan takes on the role of a man fighting against a crime network. Rashmika plays his love interest, while Kajal Aggarwal also has a significant role in the movie. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala’s production house, the film is set for an Eid 2025 release.
