After Animal and Sam Bahadur’s box office clash, the two major upcoming much-anticipated films, Dunki and Salaar are next in the line for a direct clash at the box office. Both Dunki and Salaar are two of the much-awaited films of the year starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and South superstar Prabhas. The advance bookings of both films are now open, and as per the latest reports it is believed that Prabhas starrer Salaar is an edge below Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki in terms of their overseas advance bookings.
Dunki Advance Booking Collection
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Rajkumar Hirani’s film, Dunki starring Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly sold more than 1.46 lakh tickets by Monday which are worth around Rs 4.54 crore for its Hindi shows. As per the portal, the film had witnessed the most bookings in Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir.
Salaar Advance Booking Collection
On the other hand, Prashanth Neel’s film, Salaar starring Prabhas is trailing behind SRK’s Dunki in terms of the advance booking collections. As per the portal, Salaar has reportedly sold a total of over 1.56 lakh tickets worth around Rs 3.74 crore by Monday morning. Most of the tickets were sold in states like Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the buzz around both films is unmatched. Both Salaar and Dunki have been trending on social media days ahead of their release. The competition between Dunki and Salaar is getting tougher and fierce with days.
About Dunki
Directed by 3 Idiots director, Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is an upcoming comedy-drama Bollywood film based on “donkey flights”, an illegal immigration entry technique. The film will feature an ensemble cast featuring superstar Shah Rukh Khan alongside Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, and others. Dunki will be released in theatres on 21 December 2023.
About Salaar
Salaar will be a Telugu action thriller film, directed by KGF director Prashanth Neel. The film will feature Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles. Apart from them the film also stars Jagapati Babu, Eshwari Rao, and Sriya Reddy in significant roles. The film will hit the theatres on December 22, 2023, and will be released in Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages.
