Sunjay Kapur, a distinguished businessman and athlete, is the former spouse of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor. He was a significant figure in India’s automotive industry. With his leadership, Sona Comstar became a leading global player in precision automotive components, particularly in the electric mobility sector. Additionally, he served as the President of the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and co-chaired the Manufacturing Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Sanjay Kapur passed away on June 12, 2025, at the age of 53, during a polo match in the UK. Reports indicate that a heart attack is suspected to have followed a bee sting while he was riding.
