The popular TV show Anupamaa has seen many cast changes but the sudden replacement of actress Alisha Parveen’s character has left fans shocked. Alisha recently shared her feelings about the situation on Instagram saying, “I didn’t quit the show #Anupamaa, but I don’t know the exact reason why this happened. Everything seemed fine, but this was a shock for me too. Thank you so much for loving Raahi/Aadhya. I worked hard for this role and will miss the show deeply.”
Reports now reveal that the makers replaced Alisha due to her performance in emotional scenes. A source told Filmibeat, “There’s no controversy here. Alisha Parveen was doing her best to portray the character, but the makers weren’t entirely satisfied with her performance, particularly in the emotional scenes. They made this decision because they believed it was in the show’s best interest. Ultimately, the success of both the characters and the actors is crucial in driving the show’s popularity and advancing its storyline effectively.”
And now Alisha Parveen’s co-star Shivam Khajuria was also left surprised by her exit. Speaking to India Forums he said, “I found out during Romesh sir’s birthday party. Even I don’t understand why this happened. Alisha had a good bond with everyone, including the production team and Rupali ma’am.”
Shivam also dismissed rumours of on-set issues saying, “There were no problems with anyone. Alisha and Rupali ma’am often chatted in Bengali, and everyone got along well. There were no fights.” Also, when Shivam asked the show’s producer Rajan Shahi about the decision, he was told, “Some things are not in our hands.”
Despite these replacement and star exit issues, numerous mishaps and controversies, the show remains strong holding its spot in the top 5 with a 2.3 TRP rating.
