Actor Aman Preet Singh, the brother of actress Rakul Preet Singh, has been arrested by the Hyderabad police in connection with a drug case. His arrest came as a result of a joint operation conducted by the Narcotics Bureau and the Rajendra Nagar SOT Police, under the jurisdiction of the Cyberabad Police.
On Monday, the Hyderabad police held a press conference to disclose details about the case. They confirmed Aman Preet Singh’s arrest in connection with a recent drug bust. While five individuals were arrested for drug peddling, Aman’s name appeared on a list of 13 people who had consumed the drugs and tested positive. The police stated that he would soon be presented in court.
The police said at the press meet, “I will only comment on whom Aman is connected to once we investigate the case more. We need to check when his association began with the accused, who consist of some Indians and Nigerians. Some of them are repeat offenders. But we believe it might be for a year and a half. Aman tested positive for using cocaine in the urine test. It is confirmed that he’s an actor, he did not say if it’s on Tollywood or elsewhere,”
Previously, Rakul Preet Singh was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering case linked to a drug investigation. However, when questioned about her involvement in the current case, the police clarified, “She has nothing to do with this case, we are not investigating her, her name needn’t be dragged in unnecessarily, so we will not be commenting on it.”
It should be noted that Rakul Preet Singh, along with Rana Daggubati, Charmme Kaur, Navdeep, Ravi Teja, and Puri Jagannadh, was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a drug trafficking and consumption case from 2021 and 2022. Her statement was recorded by the agency last year. The ED has been investigating this case for four years, following the 2017 bust of a high-end drug cartel by Telangana’s Prohibition and Excise Department, which was supplying LSD, MDMA, and other narcotics.
