Bollywood actor turned poltician Govinda has always left fans captivated with his exceptional performance. With films like Raja Babu, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Deewana Mastana and more, Govinda left an indelible mark in the industry. But it was not enough for him to survive. Despite proving his powerful acting, awesome humor and classic dialog delivery – Govinda once suffered a phase in life that could have thrown him outside the film industry. Govinda recently revealed how Bollywood once conspired against him, and he was the only uneducated individual who had the will to enter a space of well-educated, rich individuals in the Indian cinema.
Govinda RECALLS Bollywood’s Conspiracy Against Him
In a recent interview with Mukesh Khanna, Govinda shared that there were some set of people who created an environment to push him out. He mentioned, “I went through a defamation phase, and it was pre-planned. They wanted to remove me from the industry. I understood that these were all educated people, and I, an uneducated outsider, had entered their space.” However he did not reveal the names behind the doubtful individuals who tried to conspire against the actor. He directly said that he would not like to spoil names by revealing them, because he still chooses to be grateful for the life that he has had, and it has only been possible because of the industry he was a part of. But, it was a tough time for him to survive.
People Stood With Guns Outside His House To Attack Him
Shockingly, Govinda also revealed that people planned to hit him. As he recalled the old time, Govinda claimed that even though he understood that people are plotting against him, to get him away from the limelight and industry. However, he did not the extent to which people could do him wrong. Govinda remarked, “Iski hadd mujhe nahi pata thi. Toh mere saath maaran prayog shuru huye..” (I did not know the limit of it. People tried to attack me). Further he added that numerous people were caught outside his house with guns, as they wanted to attempt attacking Govinda.
“After the conspiracies planned, my nature changed. I decided to talk to Balasaheb Thakare, Atal Bihari Bajpayee on whether to join hands with politics”, he claimed ahead. In the conversation, he also talked about rejecting a film by James Cameron worth 100 crores. He turned this major project down because he did not find it connecting to him. He mentioned that post the rejection, he even slapped himself for taking this step and regretted later.
