Pankaj Tripathi Revealed He Has A Problem Being Called Character Actor

Pankaj Tripathi revealed that he doesn't like being called a ‘supporting actor’ or ‘character actor’.

Bollywood’s ace actor Pankaj Tripathi who turned 46 on 5th September, is basking praises for his latest release Criminal Justice. The third season of the crime thriller was released recently and the actor is getting love from his fans. In an interview, Pankaj Tripathi revealed that he doesn’t like being called a ‘supporting actor’ or ‘character actor’.

Pankaj Tripathi started acting at a late age in life, he debuted a cameo role in Run and Omkara. Since then he has appeared in more than 520 films and in many television shows and web series. Tripathi established himself as an actor in the industry receiving critical acclaim for films such as Fukrey, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Ludo and Mimi among others. He is most loved actor on digital space for his popular shows Mirzapur and Criminal Justice.

Tripathi has also thanked OTT world for being what he is today. Playing various roles and appearing in several films Pankaj is regarded as a supporting actor and character actor. To this, Pankaj Tripathi reacted that he hates being called character actor. In an interview with Brut, The Sherdil actor spoke on this remark and why doesn’t go to Bollywood parties.

He said, “Yeh I definitely have a problem when people call me that. What is a supporting actor or a character actor? An actor is an actor. More than ‘supporting actor,’ I have a problem with being called a ‘character actor’. I don’t get the term ‘character actor’. In films everyone is playing a character. Who is a characterless actor? Everyone is doing a character including the lead actors.”

Talking about Bollywood parties he said, “Yes I don’t go to Bollywood parties because earlier no one used to call me in these parties but now when they invite me, I don’t feel like going.”

On the work front, Pankaj Tripathi will be next seen in Oh My God 2. He was last seen in Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga alongside Sayani Gupta, and in the Disney+ Hotstar web series Criminal Justice: Adhura Sach.
