Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Chhaava is doing awesome at the box office. While Vicky is busy enjoying the success of the film’s massive collection, there’s a buzzing report that tells that not Vicky but his wife Katrina Kaif and Tollywod superstar Mahesh Babu were offered the film first.
Although not confirmed, but according to the reports by The Siasat Daily, Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava was initially offered to Katrina Kaif and Mahesh Babu to portray the roles of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and his Rani Yesubai. But because Mahesh Babu had little interest in the film, the role was further passed onto Vicky Kaushal. Similarly, when Katrina Kaif rejected the role of Yesubai – it was offered to Pushpa fame star Rashmika Mandanna.
Prior this news, Rashmika Mandanna was highly judged by the audience to be chosen for the role of Yesubai, as audience did not find her a good fit. However, Vicky is being constantly praised for his performance. If Katrina would have said yes for the role, Chhaava could have been the first film where the real life couple would have appeared together after marriage.
Chhaava Soaring High At Box Office
Talking about the film, Chhaava is a period-drama, based on the life of the legendary Maratha ruler, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. This Laxman Utekar directorial is stars Vicky Kaushal where he steps into the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of the Maratha empire’s founder. Besides him, Chaava also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta in key roles. The film has so far earned over Rs 200 crore as of now, and has also been declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh and Goa.
