Many actors have impressed audiences in this roaring ensemble film, but one name that stood out despite limited screen time is Mashhoor Amrohi. In Dhurandhar: The Revenge, he portrayed the role of Nawab Shafiq, a character which is inspired by former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. His extreme striking resemblance and performance surprised viewers. Alongside him, Ranveer Singh received praise for his roles as Hamza and Jaskirat Singh Rangi, making the collaboration between Mashhoor Amrohi and Ranveer Singh even more talked about.
In an exclusive interview with Lehren, Mashhoor Amrohi shared insights about his experience working on Aditya Dhar’s directorial. When asked if Ranveer Singh is a secure actor, he responded without hesitation, “Supremely! Extremely secure.” His answer was clear and direct, reflecting genuine admiration rather than a practised response.
Talking about their bond, he said, “I’ve known him as my younger brother Bilal’s friend and classmate. He (Ranveer) and I share a fantastic rapport of respect, love, hugs and warmth as well. But never had the opportunity to work with him. This was my first experience, wonderful!” The comfort between Mashhoor Amrohi and Ranveer Singh was evident even before they shared screen space this year.
He further clarified, “I’m not just saying that it’s the politically correct thing to say… no, it’s not that. He’s genuinely a very secure person.” He stressed that his words came from real experience, not industry pressure.
Sharing an on-set moment, he added, “I don’t need to say it myself, the actions are there to validate it. In one sequence, I was asked to have just one tap on his shoulder, but I went a bit extra because that’s the body language I chose for Nawab Shafiq. As soon as we cut, he said, ‘bro, that was good!’” That moment, he explained, built confidence and comfort.
He continued, “You suddenly realize, ‘Ok, I’m in a comfortable environment, no feathers are being ruffled over here.’ We’re all working towards the same goal — for the betterment of the film. If one character looks off, the whole scene looks off.”
Mashhoor Amrohi’s experience reflects how mutual respect and support between actors can shape a film’s outcome. His honest words offer a refreshing look at teamwork in the industry and why comfort on set truly matters.
