The buzz around the groundbreaking crime-investigative drama film Mardaani 3 starring Rani Mukerji is real but when it comes to advance bookings, the numbers tell a quieter story so far. With just a day left for its theatrical release on January 30, 2026, the crime thriller has begun its pre-release run at a measured pace.
Mardaani 3 Advance Booking Figures So Far
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, advance bookings for Mardaani 3 opened on January 28 and the film has sold just over 2,100 tickets nationwide. Early estimates suggest that the film has collected around Rs 1.06 crore to Rs 1.31 crore for day one, depending on whether block seats are included.
The film is currently playing across 3,300+ shows with Delhi NCR and Maharashtra contributing its highest share. Other states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Punjab, Telangana and West Bengal have also shown steady interest, each crossing the Rs 5 lakh mark in ticket sales.
How It Compares to the Franchise
The numbers may seem modest, especially when compared to earlier successful films in the franchise. Mardaani 2 opened to Rs 3.8 crore on day one and went on to earn nearly Rs 67 crore worldwide. The first Mardaani collected over Rs 40 crore in India, turning a healthy profit.
One factor affecting advance bookings could be the strong box office run of Sunny Deol’s Border 2 which was released on 23rd January and continues to draw attention. Still, trade analysts believe that Mardaani 3 could see better traction over the weekend.
The third chapter brings Rani Mukerji back as Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy, tackling another intense case involving missing girls. The film also stars Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad and is backed by Yash Raj Films.
