Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore Are Set to Star in Amazon Prime Video’s New Series, ‘The Assassin’

The Dynamic Duo Unite in an Intense Six-Episodic Series Exploring Espionage and Betrayal

Amazon Prime Video has announced its latest original series, The Assassin, a gripping thriller set to star Keeley Hawes and Freddie Highmore. The show, which delves into the high-stakes world of espionage and betrayal, is expected to bring a fresh and intense storyline to the streaming platform.

Written by  Jack Williams and Harry, The Assassin follows the story of a seemingly retired assassin named Julie, played by Hawes, who reunites with her son Edward, played by Highmore, who joins her in the series as a mysterious figure with a hidden agenda, adding to the suspenseful and unpredictable nature of the plot. The filming of the upcoming six-episodic series has begun in Greece.

Amazon Studios is producing the series with an award-winning production company, Two Brothers Pictures, known for Boat Story, Fleabag, and The Tourist, in collaboration with a German co-production partner of  All3Media International, and Stan in Australia, ZDF.

The television head of Amazon Prime Video U.K., Hannah Blyth shared her excitement about the project and its talented cast in a statement. “From the moment Harry and Jack shared their vision for The Assassin, we knew that it would resonate perfectly with our audience.” Blyth added to her statement, “The Assassin promises to deliver a high-stakes thriller with a dynamic mother-son relationship at its core, packed with twists and turns that will keep our audience hooked from start to finish.” (Source: Deadline)
