‘Power Of The Youth’: From Kamal Haasan To Priyanka Chopra, Bollywood Reacts As Dharmendra Pradhan Resigns After Students’ Victory

From Prakash Raj, Kamal Haasan, Priyanka Chopra and Vir Das to Vijay varma and others, Bollywood celebrated what many called a victory for protesting students after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned following weeks of nationwide demonstrations.

The resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on July 25 has become one of the most talking points in the country after the weeks of nationwide students relentlessly protesting for the justice over the alleged NEET paper leak and examination irregularities, the development was seen by many as a major victory for young voices demanding accountability.

The demonstrations at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and supported by educator Sonam Wangchuk during his 26-day hunger strike, finally found its win in the minister stepping down. Soon after the announcement, several celebrities from the film industry reacted on social media, congratulating students and calling the moment a reminder of the strength of democracy and the power of youth.

From Prakash Raj, Kamal Haasan, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Vir Das to Vijay varma and others, Bollywood celebrated what many called a victory for protesting students after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned following weeks of nationwide demonstrations.

Kamal Haasan Calls For Lasting Education Reforms

Kamal Haasan welcomed the government’s decision to engage in dialogue and urged the country to focus on long-term reforms. He wrote,

“Glad to see dialogue replacing confrontation. Dissent deserves dialogue. This is democracy in action. Pellet guns, electric shock batons and nail-studded lathis have no place in the land of Bapu. Equally, attacks on security personnel and public property must be examined fairly. Accountability cannot be selective. This moment and oppurtunity is bigger than paper leaks. I urge a National Commission on Education and Examination Reform, with a three-month roadmap to restore trust in examinations, reduce academic stress and modernise education, one that also hears Tamil Nadu’s voice, where young Anitha’s death first showed the human cost of a single high-stakes test. The Government’s willingness to engage is welcome. Now let us ensure that dialogue leads to lasting reform. The road ahead is long, but Indians must walk it together. #DoBetterIndia #TogetherForChange.”
