Kamal Haasan Celebrates ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Success: “I Could’ve Flipped Off But Grew More Excited” – Lauds Nag Ashwin’s Incredible Vision

In a video message, Kamal Haasan aka Supreme Yaskin of 'Kalki 2898 AD' lauds director Nag Ashwin with a fascinating example.

Kamal Haasan, celebrated for his remarkable versatility, continues to amaze audiences with his portrayal in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, a film that has recently surpassed the whopping ₹1000 crore mark at the box office. The actor, known for seamlessly transforming into diverse roles, expressed his happiness at the film’s giant success. In a heartfelt video message, Haasan, who plays the vigorous Supreme Yaskin in the sci-fi epic film, has appreciated director Nag Ashwin for his visionary approach.

Reflecting on the journey of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, Haasan began by stating, “From 300, 500, to crossing 1000 crores, it’s a happy moment. I have acted in over 250 films and very few were lazy but not all get such attention but when we get such attention as ‘Kalki’ has been garnered with, we must celebrate!”

Further Ulaganayan discussed about his role of Supreme Yaskin, a character that required keen attention to detail and involved huge collaboration with international designers. He said, “When I first saw the costume designs, I could have been filled off with uneasiness, but instead, I grew more and more excited as we went on.”

Further praising Nag Ashwin’s reamarkable vision, Kamal stated with a beautiful example, he explained, “It’s like a game only a child understands. Initially, you watch a kid playing with toys and think it’s just a game. But when you immerse yourself, the child says, ‘I’m cooking and making food for you, would you like a pudding?’ You nod, pretend to eat the pudding, and get drawn into their world of creativity, just like the child you may have underestimated.” Reflecting on this comparison, his statement added on, “Filmmaking is similar and that kind of child I saw in Mr. Nagi.”

In conclusion, Kamal mentioned that the sequel will showcase more of Supreme Yaskin’s extravagant visuals and activities. As audiences have witnessed only few parts of the character in the part one, leaving them eager for what’s to come.

Including Kamal Haasan, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ also featured actors from various film industries, such as Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Brahmanandam, Shobhana, Pasupathy, Saswata Chatterjee, Anna Ben, and several exciting cameo appearances by Disha Patani, Vijay Deverakonda, Dulquer Salmaan, Malvika Nair, Mrunal Thakur, Faria Abdullah, among others.
