In an exclusive interview with Lehren Retro, her mom Madhu Chopra talked about the different highlights of her life, including the one when her father Ashok Chopra passed away. From being bullied for her Indian background, to being criticised for her dark complexion, PC faced the wrath of life in abundance. However, an attribute Madhu really adores of her is that she never really falls back. Even during her father’s death, “Priyanka was a like a rock”, said Madhu.
Priyanka Chopra Decided To Celebrate Madhu Chopra ‘s 60th Birthday Despite Father’s Demise
It was Madhu Chopra’s 60th birthday month, and just a few days before the grand celebration, her husband left the world. The entire family was in the state of grief, including Priyanka but she did not forget to keep up the spirit for mumma’s birthday. Madhu revealed that while the family members from both the sides were present together due to his demise on June 10th, Priyanka announced for everyone to stay back as they will be readily celebrating her 60th birthday. She said she will be doing it because that’s what Papa wanted.
Priyanka Got John Abraham Come As A Birthday Gift Himself For Madhu
As Madhu recalled her celebration day, she revealed, “I am a fan of John Abraham..for whatever reason..so, on my birthday, they requested John to come as my gift at midnight, wrapped in a gift-wrapping.” This surprising thought came from Priyanka Chopra as Madhu stated that “she wanted her mom to have a moment”. Going by the plan, John arrived for the birthday celebration as a gift, after PC approached him. Delighted by the day, Madhu said it was a fun memory.
She also stressed on the critical thought other relatives brought in. While people judged her for enjoying music, having fun,instead of grieving for her husband’s loss – Madhu said she continued to be in the moment because her daughter had done it. “My kids have put in so much effort. They are all suffering, they are all grieving, but this is how she was honoring dad and his wish,” Madhu remarked. Later, when the seniormost journalist of Lehren Retro asked her about how she felt of the gift, Madhu laughs off and describes it, “Bigg-bow!He walked in with a bow-tie, and it was so cute”.
