Veteran Telugu actor and former Andhra Pradesh Film Corporation Chairman Posani Murali Krishna was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh police on February 26. Reports confirm that he was taken into the custody from his residence in Raidurgam by a team from Sambepalli police station. The authorities had earlier filed a case against him at the Obulavaripalli police station under various sections including the SC/ST Act. The actor was then transported to Andhra Pradesh, where he is expected to appear before the Additional Magistrate in Rajampet.

According to police sources, Posani Murali Krishna’s arrest is linked to his alleged derogatory remarks about a particular community. Authorities claim his statements caused unrest, prompting multiple cases across different police stations. He had also previously faced legal issues for his comments against prominent political figures including Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan.
Despite being unwell and undergoing treatment, Posani was detained after police served an arrest notice to his wife. The notice stated that the charges against him were non-bailable, making his immediate custody necessary. This incident has sparked discussions with many speculating whether more arrests might follow.
