Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, the man behind the awesome fan-favorite, Jab We Met has finally spoken on the unexpected reunion of Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. While the director looked at this as beautiful thing that happened, he also shed light on whether he will be soon coming back with a sequel to Jab We Met. The ex-lovers got to witness each other eye-to-eye and had a physical interaction at IIFA 2025, which melted everybody’s hearts.
Imtiaz Ali On Shahid And Kareena’s Unexpected REUNION At IIFA 2025
Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali expressed his views on Wednesday about the rising curiosity surrounding a sequel to his 2007 film “Jab We Met.” The renewed interest surged after Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan came together on stage during the IIFA event. The two actors participated in a press conference for the 25th International Indian Film Academy Awards in Jaipur last week, prompting fans on social media to reminisce about the reunion of their cherished characters, Aditya and Geet, from Ali’s well-loved film.
As the filmmaker told PTI, he said, “Actually, I find it very interesting that Shahid and Kareena met up in IIFA and people are talking to me about ‘Jab We Met’. Shahid has said that he thinks that I have moved on, but I think that everybody has moved on. It’s been a long time since Jab We Met”.
Is Jab We Met 2 In Works?
Talking about whether Imtiaz would bring out the sequel to Jab We Met or not, he said that it feels like he should not be spoiling the beauty of the film, by producing a sequel of it. “I am not really planning a movie with Shahid and Kareena per se, but it’s great that they met and they’re both very fantastic actors. I obviously had the greatest time working with both of them”, Imtiaz added.
